Actor Kim Jae-wook returns to the small screen with cable channel tvN' s new romantic comedy "Her Private Life." Kim appeared at a press event along with co-star Park Min-young and director Hong Jong-chan to promote the series in Seoul on April 3.
Kim plays a curt man who runs an art gallery and does not have much interest in other people, but develops an attraction to a curator who works at the gallery.
Asked to cite his character's most memorable line, Kim said, "Do you want this?" [in which the character refers to a painting of himself] would be the one which symbolically describes the character." He added, "It seems straightforward, but it wasn't easy for me to covey it effectively and in an impressive way."
Kim also gets a chance to flex his comedy muscles in the series. "My utmost concern is to entertain viewers, and in that sense, I'm not afraid to look funny -- I actually find it de-stressing and fun," he said. "I even had to ask the director to calm me down if I go too far."
Kim also expressed thanks to the director and Park. "I'm a bit unfamiliar with this genre, so I rely on them so much and they gave me a lot of useful tips to improve my acting, making me enjoy it. Overall, I'm having fun doing this."
The first episode of "Her Private Life" will be aired on April 10.
