Actress Son Ye-jin was asked if she has actually often bought meals for her co-star Jung Hae-in at a press event for JTBC's new TV series "Something in the Rain" in Seoul on March 28.
The question referred to the Korean title of the drama, which translates roughly as "A pretty older girl who buys me meals."
"I try to buy him meals, but he always pays in advance before I can get the chance. Because of the title of the series, I really have tried to, but I haven't succeeded yet," Son said. Jung joked in reply, "I was going to ask her to buy me an [expensive] Korean beef dish later."
Asked about her first impression of Jung, Son said, "I thought he was a good match for the character. I'm six years older than him in real life, and because he is so baby-faced, I was worried it would make me look much older."
The first episode of "Something in the Rain," an extended 80-minute episode, will air on March 30.
