Su-zy Says Her Part in 'Ashfall' Was Small, But Too Interesting to Turn Down

Singer-turned-Actress Su-zy appeared at a press event for her film "Ashfall" in Seoul on Dec. 18.

The disaster blockbuster is creating a lot of hype thanks to a star-studded cast, which also includes Lee Byung-hun and Ha Jung-woo, just ahead of its release on Dec. 19.

It revolves around a group of people who try to stop a volcanic eruption of Mt. Baekdu in North Korea. Su-zy plays a pregnant woman who must struggle for survival alone.

When asked what made her take on the role, she said, "I had fun reading the script. It is a bit of a minor role, meaning that I might not get much screen time, but that did not concern me when it came to choosing to be part of the project," she said. "I haven't appeared in a disaster film before, so I was eager to do it."

"I also thought I could learn a lot by working with many veteran actors," she added.
