Actor Kang Ha-neul expressed his hope of winning the best couple award with actress Kong Hyo-jin, after they starred together in KBS' hit TV drama "When the Camellia Blooms."
He attended a red carpet event ahead of KBS' year-end drama awards in Seoul on Dec. 31. "Thank you for coming despite the cold weather," he said. "I am happy and grateful that the drama ended in success. This was the first TV project I joined after I finished my mandatory military service earlier this year, so it means something to me."
He added, "I feel awkward in a tuxedo tonight because I've recently worn sloppy casual clothes mostly for my character, but I am thankful [about this opportunity]." He looked forward to meeting his co-stars Kong and Oh Jung-se at the event. "I am excited to see how dazzling Kong and Oh will look," he said.
When asked about who he thought would be winners at the awards, he said, "As Oh and I appeared in the same drama, I hope he will win an award." But about the prospect of wining one himself, he said, "My character loved [the heroine] 'Dong-baek' so much, so I will be really happy and content only to win the best couple award."
